Walks from the Severn Beach Line

Waiting for the train at Sea Mills

A friend of FoSBR has kindly compiled a selection of 10 walks from the Severn Beach Line. John Beales is a walk leader with Bristol Amblers who operate a free and friendly walking group within Walking for Health under the auspices of The Ramblers.

The 10 walks can be downloaded as a PDF booklet here.  The walk notes include interesting descriptions of both well-known and obscure points of interest along the way.

The walks are as follows:

  • Severn Beach Circular
  • St Andrews Road to Severn Beach
  • St Andrews Road to Avonmouth
  • Avonmouth to Shirehampton
  • Sea Mills to Shirehampton
  • Sea Mills Circular
  • Sea Mills to Clifton Down
  • Clifton Down Circular
  • Clifton Down to Stapleton Road
  • Stapleton Road to Temple Meads

Walking for Health walks are intended to be three miles or less as a safe and sociable form of moderate exercise.  Bristol Amblers only uses public transport to get to a walk start and from a walk end.
