The Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways Annual General Meeting will take place on Friday 29th January 2021 at 19.30. This year, for obvious reasons, the FoSBR AGM will be held online via Zoom.
Last year’s main speaker explained how things are done on the other side of the Severn. This year we have listened to our members and have assembled a Bristol-focused array of speakers:
- Nicholas Falk (Executive Director of The URBED Trust) who will talk about integrating rail transport with development planning and how transport planning can lead a Green Recovery.
- Andrew Braddock (Bath & Bristol Trams Group) will present his group’s work promoting light rail initiatives for Bath and Bristol, and how they interchange/integrate with the rail network.
- Gavin Smith (Transport for Greater Bristol) will outline the comprehensive set of proposals TfGB are developing.
Transport for Greater Bristol (TfGB) have this autumn produced a rapid transit plan for Bristol and Bath, parking and traffic management plans for Bristol, and a bus plan. The rapid transit plan may be of particular interest to FoSBR followers, as it discusses how local rail can be integrated with on-street light rail or tram systems.
We hope these speakers will stimulate an interesting debate, and have allowed time for questions and answers.
We will email out the Zoom link that you will need to join the FoSBR AGM about 10 days beforehand. This email will automatically go to FoSBR members, provided we have a valid email address for you.
Non-members are also welcome to attend the meeting – you may wish to go and make yourself a cup of tea during the formal business segment of the meeting. If you are not a FoSBR member, please contact us and we will forward the Zoom link for the AGM to you. Alternatively you may wish to join us!
We look forward to welcoming you on the night!
