FoSBR 25th anniversary – socially-distanced celebrations

FOSBR friends and allies

Last weekend was the 25th anniversary of FoSBR’s formation.   COVID-19 prevented us from holding any large celebration, but small groups (less than six) of FoSBR supporters and allies met up over the weekend along the line.

Pictured in various locations along the Severn Beach Line, above and below:

Bernard K – ASLEF, Dave R – transport campaigner, James F – First Bus, Jayne W – FoSBR friend, John B – FoSBR friend, Julie B – FoSBR co-founder, Lionel W – FoSBR friend, Mike H – FoSBR friend, Peter G – FoSBR co-founder, Sue M – FoSBR friend, Teresa M – FoSBR friend, Tina B – FoSBR secretary, Tony L – FoSBR treasurer.

Tony describes how FoSBR played its part in saving the Severn Beach Line here.

Teresa appeared on Radio Bristol on Friday morning to highlight the 25th anniversary of FoSBR and promote the benefits of the Severn Beach Line itself.  The interview is 56:20 in; it will only be available on iPlayer for a short time.

Many thanks to Severnside Community Rail Partnership for donating 8 of their stylish mural masks to FoSBR.  The masks are for sale here.  Funds raised will be used to support SCRP future projects to benefit communities served by our local railway.

Please email    if you would like to be involved in any future small gathering, and let us know if you’d like to reserve a “FoSBR 25th anniversary” t-shirt for just £10.

Stay safe everyone!
