FOSBR are trying to ascertain if the changes to services between Filton Abbey Wood and Bristol Parkway will detrimentally affect commuters. Is anyone a regular traveller from Filton Abbey Wood to give us a steer on this?
A helpful colleague has summarised the changes as follows:
- From 07:00 to 08:00 there are four direct services an hour, from December, there are still four trains an hour with minor tweaks to times but only by three minutes or less.
- From 08:00 to 09:00, there are three direct services an hour, from December, this is reduced to one per hour. As currently two of the three trains are four minutes apart the realistic reduction is by 50% not 67%.
- From 09:00 to 10:00, there are three direct services an hour, from December, this is reduced to one per hour. As currently two of the three trains are eleven minutes apart the realistic reduction is by 50% not 67%. What is of concern is that the near on 30 minute frequency is lost.
- From 10:00 to 16:00 there are two direct services an hour, no more than 9 minutes apart, from December, this becomes one service.
- From 16:00 to 17:00, here are three direct services an hour, from December, this is reduced to two per hour. However, given that currently two of the three trains are nine minutes apart the December change actually provides a 30 minute frequency so this is actually better.
- From 17:00 to 18:00, here are three direct services an hour, from December, there are still three trains an hour with minor tweaks to times but only by six minutes or less.
- From 18:00, the number of direct services increases.
Passengers can see the complete changes by comparing departures for Monday 9th December (before timetable change) and Monday 16th December (after timetable change) on https://gwr.com/
